Website Ranking Information Functionality Completed

Wednesday, September 26th, 2007

The publisher website detail functionality for WebAdClassifieds.com has been completed. This will allow potential advertisers to automatically access more information about the publishers who offer online advertising.

The additional domain information will include the following web statistics:

Website Address
PageRank
Alexa Rank
Google Results
Yahoo! Results
AltaVista Results
AllTheWeb Results

In addition, direct links to the following information services will be available.

WhoIs Record
Complete.com Snapshot
AboutUs.com Entry
Builtwith.com Profile

Of course, to see this additional publisher domain information, the visitor will need to be logged in. This is to keep a level of anonymity for the publisher (if they so desire), and it provides an advertiser an added benefit for becoming a member. Either way, advertisers will still be able to contact publishers through the site if they are interested in their advertising offerings.

This information will help online advertisers make intelligent decisions as to where they purchase online ad opportunities. After all, nobody wants to be linked from a bad neighborhood

Is This the One?

New logo created, but it will probably go through some changes before launch. CSS edits being finalized. User registration/listing setup and listing display all working. Next up is the domain detail coding that will allow advertisers to examine the domain details of the publishers. This will include Google PR, Alexa Ranking, number of backlinks from the major search engines, domain registration information, ect.

Categories have been reduced from 50 to 26. Figure we can break them out further if we need to in the future.

Basic Web Ad Classifieds Software Installed

Monday, September 10th, 2007

The basic software has been installed for WebAdClassifieds.com! Now comes the work customizing and integrating it all. There are several software components that will need to be added, and some specific functionality will need to be created from scratch.

While a basic road map of the site exists, the exact functionality of the site, such as user registration, specific advertising questions, and even some of the classified sub-categories will be worked out as it all takes more shape. Like any web project, you don’t know exactly what you are getting into until you dive into it.

Once the main site design is finalized, this blog’s look will be reworked to better match the two.
